Very interesting. I will have to have a think.
I know both NZIER and Infometrics also put up free commentary – but they don’t have a comments function.
Have you guys actually thought about started a blog site itself. Both Infometrics and NZIER used to have these types of sites, but they are down now. If there was an independent blog site (such as a separate page on the site called “blog”) then I would definitely stick it down 🙂
However, I will have a read over how it is at the moment and think about it – I am a little nervous about linking to a site that looks strictly commercial.

Ok, I’ll add Mark once I’m finished up with some analysis here.

Nice list on your link as well – cool page
Damn, that gives Auckland 1 1/2, I better update the post 🙂
Hi Mark,
Cool page, and you do talk about NZ, but our focus here is on Econ blog BASED in NZ. Are you guys based in NZ at all?
Hell yea
I’ve seen you discuss economics enough to be included, so you are included. It is a list of blogs who talk about economics enough in a substantive way.
Now Kiwiblog (and previously the Standard) also discuss economics a fair amount, and in a good way. However, as a “proportion” of the writing they do I didn’t think the economics component was high enough to be included.
The econblogsphere isn’t just trained economists but also intelligent lay people that can add to the economic debate on issues – which you have done.
