And you are right in assuming that it’s not the best incentive to convince people to take up cycling — or any form of public transport. I didn’t start cycle commuting so that I can potentially squirrel away thousands of dollars in a high-interest bearing account.

What do you think of the argument when it is framed in the manner of car-dependency?
