Ahhh, nothing I have read from the time was against it.

Tbf, I didn’t start being a macroeconomist until 2007 – so my sample of people at the time is limited to reading old text from bank economists from 2005/06.  Prior to 2007 I had no interest in macro, and just wanted to sit around fitting social situations into prisoner’s dilemma’s or co-ordination problems – hence the blogging ;)

Once I had an idea of how elevated inflationary pressures were I got pretty nervy about their looseness in late-08 as well – but of course, they had a better idea of what was going on than I did.  Amazing how much you learn about these things during a crisis as well, guess that’s the big “positive”.

Really? I have pretty strong memory of being very angry about RBNZ policy around ’05-06; alas I wasn’t yet blogging. I also was very wrong about RBNZ policy in early ’08 when they looked like they were being looser than all heck, but they saw the mess ahead.
