It is amazing how intelligent people, including people who are meant to be experts in statistics, can fall into the trap of thinking everyone else is bias, or idiots, apart from themselves (statistically how likely is it that you are a lone genius surrounded by idiots?).

It is so easy to pollute the objective core of economics with one’s own beliefs about how the world should be (evolutionary psychologists often fall into this trap too).
