I don’t know – I think there is a definite propensity to underestimate Liverpools squad each season. Alonso and Mascherano are also incredible midfielders, Carragher and Reina at the back are ever consistent, and I think Kuyt is incredibly under-rated.
My main concern is the on the wings – specifically left and right back. No sure why we got rid of Finnan to be honest 😛
So this really has turned out to be the Annus Horribilis.
Mind you, it’s about 25 years since I was last a Stamford Bridge regular. And let’s face it, losing to Manchester United at home would be much worse.
Normally Liverpool are out of title contention by about December. Maybe you’re right – this is their year and they’ll last until January!

Well, there’s a possible economics point here too about the team with the deepest pockets not being able to buy the Championship.
