Merry Christmas from all of us at TVHE. As you may have seen, James has already sorted Christmas Cards for you.
Avoid time inconsistent social choices this Christmas. I am not just talking about eating and drinking too much – also avoid telling that relative you don’t really like how you really feel! And if you’ve been drinking, and don’t think you have the willpower to keep your mouth shut, just think about us.
What can I say, we’re economists and so we deeply care 🙂

I like to think that the reason people become or aspire to become economists is because they care, often deeply. So you are spot on there!
P.S. Yes, even though I am an atheist ex-alter boy, I did keep my mouth shut during and after grace at the family Xmas lunch today. I must be getting old 😉

Yar, most economists study a social science as they really care about society – but a lot of people don’t see our field of study that way 🙂
It is the economics study doing it to you – all the reading about signalling probably made you care a bit less when you see people doing it 😉
